Tree Plantation

Shri Sahan Ram has championed various causes connected to preserving and flourishing the flora and plantations in the region. He believes that our future lies in how well we conserve and nurture our natural resources, maintain green cover and protect the environment around us.

He has planted trees, plants and shrubs across the region and also plays an active pain in farmer empowerment, providing irrigation facilitates and ensuring a sound sanitation network in the region. He also shares newer methods of agriculture, fertilization and crop support with farmers to ensure their welfare and prosperity. It is only through a shared responsibility towards having a green environment can we ensure proper air quality for our future.

Sewage

Shri Sahab Ram has worked extensively in the areas of health and hygiene. Laying, repairing and maintaining sewage lines and canals has been one of his focal points in ensuring public health and cleanliness. Stagnant and poorly managed sewage is a breeding ground for diseases, fleas and infections. Shri Sahab Ram believes that the right to a clean and hygienic environment is the right of every citizen and it is the duty of panchayats and municipal corporations to ensure the same.

Statistics say, nearly 62 million litres of sewage is generated per day in only urban areas. More than half of this sewage goes untreated due to limited capacity of treatment plants. In such a situation, it is necessary to avoid leaving sewage lying around. Proper canals, pipelines and channels are needed. Shri Sahab Ram has worked extensively in this domain and believes public health comes before all else.

Roadways Development

Poorly constructed roadways are one of the biggest causes of accidents and deaths. Realising this gap, it is Shri Sahab Ram’s endeavour to improve the quality of poor roads, make mud roads into pakka roads and improve road connectivity in the village of Nathupur as well as the surrounding areas.

With over 1 million kilometres of roadways in India being in poor condition, there is still a lot to be done in this domain of work. However, Shri Sahab Ram believes that every public servant and social worker should take it upon themselves to bridge this gap. Strengthening roadways also ensures prompt access to essential facilities such as hospitals, schools, public transport, markets among others.

In addition to strengthening road network, erecting street lights, constructing pedestrian crossings & walkways and upholding the safety of roadways is very essential. This is an area he is extremely mindful of and aspires to see clean, strong and safe roadways as a path to development.

Cleanliness Drive

In keeping with the BJP government’s Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan, Shri Sahab Ram is very passionate about maintaining cleanliness not only in Nathupur but also in surrounding districts and towns. In the 25 years of his public service, he has conducted various social and public drive in order to instil the idea of cleanliness among the people of the region.

Shri Sahab Ram has also displayed his enthusiasm on cleanliness by personally participating in cleaning his surrounding in order to lead by example. He has also supplied drinking water free of cost to people and educated them on the importance of cleaniliness. It is his belief that a clean environment is a basic right of the people in India and hence he ensures to propagate this thought in all his interactions and public addresses.

Helping the Poor

Shri Sahab Ram has worked and actively participated in a number of initiatives by the government in order to improve the standard of living for farmers and ensure rural development. He has championed capacity building and total empowerment initiatives that have helped rural villages, women, children and farmers tremendously.

Shri Sahab Ram also liaises with NGOs, state authorities, community leaders and village heads on key development projects and initiatives. He has also worked in the field of adequate resource allocation as well as social audits on part of the government for social initiatives.

He is mindful of the difficulties of minorities and women and has actively worked towards strengthening their cause. He has also helped various poor but talented young individuals to obtain a sound education free of cost and embark on a lucrative career. Shri Sahab Ram works actively in the sphere of human rights and propagates the drive to fight against social evils plaguing our society.

Blood Donation Camp

Donating blood is donating life. Shri Sahab Ram has organised and promoted various blood donation drives in Nathupur and surrounding areas. He has always spoken extensively on alleviating the taboos and myths associated with donating blood. Liaising with the government, he has worked extensively on implementing ans driving their blood donation initiatives at the ground-level. He has championed the cause of ensuring safe procedures are followed during all blood donation camps in Nathupur in his 15 years as the Sarpanch.

He also works at the grassroot-level with organisations and influencers to improve overall health facilities in the region. Shri Sahab Ram believes in equality of rights and opportunity. Which is why, he has specifically focused on the economically downtrodden class getting equal health facilities.
